This month we are mostly listening to Brutalism by Idles. It’s the sound of sarcasm compressed into a fury of drum and guitar as Joe Talbot pushes his beautiful baritone to its very edge. Every grove of this record howls the band’s commitment to what they want to achieve. They are also rather astonishing live. Mary Berry’s got a degree, why don’t you get a medal?
This month we are mostly smelling of tennis which may sound fanciful except for the genius that are Imaginary Authors. This small Portland based perfumier make truly intriguing scents woven from evocative novels of the past. The Soft Lawn takes its inspiration from Claude LeCoq’s 1916 novel of the same. It blends the smells of cut grass, oakmoss, clay court and fresh tennis balls. What could be better for Wimbledon? Service!
